Children & Youth Classes

Children’s Class

(Sanctuary and Upper Preschool Room)

Multiage Sunday School for children up to age 12.  We are excited to announce that the Children’s Class (Preschool to age 12) is using, SeasonsENCORE, which corresponds with the readings of the Revised Common Lectionary used in Trinity’s worship services.  SeasonsENCORE is designed to address “different ages, interests, learning styles, and abilities.”
This group will also experience storytelling scripts, self-directed learning, and relationships with children of different ages as they create community, sharing time and space each week. All children are invited to attend each Sunday.
During the 10:30 Worship Service on Rally Day, September 6th , Bibles were presented to all children entering Second Grade and any older children who have not received a Bible from Trinity. This is a milestone time when children of this age are learning to remain in worship. Bibles will also be used in Sunday School. If your child missed this service, please speak to Pastor Chris to obtain a Bible.

Youth Class

(Annex to the Kitchen in Isenberg Hall)

This class will be studying LinC, “a fresh, timely, and biblically based resource that helps teens examine relevant faith and life issues using the latest music, movies, news, and current events through engaging Bible study.”

Adult Classes

Bible Discovery Class

(Music Room)

The Bible Discovery Class will be studying I Corinthians through the Kerygma Program resource One in Christ by Dr. Robert Bryant, Associate Professor of Religion at the Presbyterian College in Clinton, SC.  This study will help us help us see how Paul’s first letter to the Corinthians speaks to the church today.  No Bible study group should miss spending time with Paul as he instructs this troublesome congregation on how to “walk the talk” as well as tackling hot button topics that remain with the church today.

Christian Issues Today Class

(Stage Area of Isenberg Hall)

The Christian Issues Class will be using The Wired Word, a curriculum that applies the Bible to stories taken from the current week’s news headlines.  Discussions will be led by a class member who takes the lesson from the internet available each Thursday.  An outline of the current lesson can be emailed to class members.

Good News Class

(Back of Isenberg Hall)

The class will be doing  a study of Romans exploring how people have interpreted Romans through the ages. Compare what Paul writes in Romans to what theologians like Augustine, Luther and Calvin say in trying to understand Paul in their time. At the end of this study your group will have a more informed commitment to Paul’s radical vision of God’s relationship to both Christians and Jews and to their relationship to each other, thanks to the “love of God in Christ Jesus.”
